NEW CHILD SUPPORT GUIDELINES EFFECTIVE JANUARY
1, 2005
The current Arizona Child Support
Guidelines (.pdf) follow the Income Shares Model. This model was
developed by the Child Support Guidelines Project of the National Center
for State Courts. The total child support amount approximates the amount
that would have been spent on the child(ren) if the parents and
child(ren) were living together. Each parent contributes his/her
proportionate share of the total child support amount.
Information regarding development of the guidelines, including
economic data and assumptions upon which the Schedule of Basic Child
Support Obligations is based, is contained in Policy Studies, Inc.'s
reports, Review of the Arizona
Child Support Schedule (February 6, 2003) and Findings
From a Case File Review (February 13, 2003).
The Administrative Order adopting the Arizona Child Support
Guidelines along with a PDF version of the Guidelines can be found
in Administrative
Order No. 2004-29.
