Judicial Ethics Advisory Committee Appointments
The Chief Justice has appointed Municipal Court Judge MaryAnne Majestic and public member David Damron to second terms on the Judicial Ethics Advisory Committee. The Chief Justice has also appointed Appeals Court Judge Patrick Irvine of Phoenix to succeed Appeals Court Judge Sheldon H. Weisberg, whose term expired at the end of April. The advisory committee has nine members, including judges from the appellate, superior, justice and municipal courts, one public member, and one designee of the administrative director of the Administrative Office of the Courts. The Judicial Ethics Advisory Committee, first organized in 1976 by the Arizona Supreme Court, may render advisory opinions on the Code of Judicial Conduct and other ethical standards imposed on judges or candidates for judicial office. It may also render opinions interpreting the Code of Conduct for Judicial Employees, propose amendments to the Code of Judicial Conduct, and recommend appropriate subjects for judicial education programs.
