Judicial Branch Announces New Ways to Access
Courts
To help the many Arizonans who lack legal representation in appeals from
the Superior Court to the Appellate courts, the Arizona Judicial Branch
announced the publication of the
"Guide for
Self-Represented ('Pro Se or Pro Per') Appellants and Appellees."
Also, the Arizona Court of Appeals has made viewing its decisions more
convenient by posting more of them online.

Chief Justice Ruth V. McGregor announced the
publication of a newspaper type brochure and

Chief Justice Ruth V. McGregor Announces Drug Court Funding
Recipients
With leadership and dedication from Rep. William Konopnicki, Chief
Justice McGregor awarded $1.45 million to 15 juvenile and adult
probation departments.

Branch 2006 Achievement Awards recognize individuals, teams,
projects, and courts that have made substantial contributions to
improving public trust and confidence in the Arizona court system, and
have helped move the courts from ‘Good to Great.’ Nominate an exemplary

Thirty-one judges, administrators and leaders from Arizona's courts
across the state graduated from the National Center for State Courts
Institute for Court Management, May 5, 2006 at the Arizona Supreme
Court.

Increasing Public Access to Court Rules
The Arizona Supreme Court now accepts electronic filing of rule
petitions and rule comments at the
"Rules E-Forum." This allows the public to monitor all pending rules
and petitions and comments.

Maricopa County Superior Court Judge and CASA Program Honored
Judge Ronald S. Reinstein received the 2006 Attorney General's
Distinguished Service Award for Leadership. The Arizona
Court Appointed
Special Advocates (CASA) Program received the 2006 Attorney
General's Distinguished Service Award for Advocacy Direct Service. |
Commission Created to Enhance Victims' Rights
Chief Justice Ruth V. McGregor established the
Commission on Victims in the Courts. The Commission will advise the
Arizona Judicial Council on policy and procedures to ensure victims'
Constitutional rights are supported.

Arizona Supreme Court Creates Statewide Family Law Rules
The Arizona Supreme Court formally adopted a set of statewide,
uniform and comprehensive rules for family law cases. The comprehensive
adopted rules include divorce, legal separation, paternity, child
custody, child support and protective orders.
